Elizabeth L. Ghaffari: Former Editor, English Professor

Elizabeth Ghaffari, a former  White Plains, died on Oct. 26 at the age of 89 in Mystic, Conn.

Ghaffari is survived by three sons, four grandchildren and two former daughters-in law.

Her teaching career included stints at Logan High School in Utah; Utah State and the University of Pennsylvania.

Ghaffari’s editing career included stints with Readers Digest, Ladies Home Journal Books Division, Children’s Television Workshop, Westchester Business Journals, Doubleday, Viking Press, and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. She also served as editorial consultant to several authors.

She retired to Westerly, Rhode Island in 2004 to be near her son, Kameron Ghaffari, and his family.
