Stewart was one of two people who died when the speedboat they were riding in collided with a construction barge near the Tappan Zee Bridge Friday. Her fiance, Brian Bond a Pearl River resident and teacher with White Plains schools, was injured in the accident and was still hospitalized as of Monday night. Mark Lennon of Pearl River, who was to be the best man in the wedding, was the other fatality in the accident.

Laura Mungin, principal George Washington Elementary School, and  Eileen McGuire, principal at Mamaroneck Avenue Elementary School, sent out a letter to parents earlier today stating that Bond is expected to be released from Westchester Medical Centerin Valhalla tomorrow.

"As Brian and his family begin the healing process we want to show them our love and support while being respectful of their privacy during this very difficult time," the letter states. "Toward that end, any notes, cards and well wishes are being collected at GW and MAS to be forwarded to him. As we hear more information, we will be sharing it with you on both the GW and MAS websites."
