Come (Car) Cruise with Us at the Career Center!

The SWBOCES Center for Career Services in Valhalla will be the setting for the 3rd Annual Center for Career Services Car Show and Open House on Sunday, May 18. The event, with a rain date of June 1, promises to have something for everyone, with food, demonstrations and music to enjoy whether you are a car lover or not.

Held in conjunction with the Rock ‘n’ Rods Classic Car Club from Yonkers, the car cruise will feature some 60 to 70 autos including hot rods, classic cars, vintage cars, muscle cars and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cars will be judged at noon and trophies awarded for different categories. Both admission and parking are free.

The event showcases CCS, which is renowned for career training that includes the Technology Cluster with its Automotive Technician and Collision Technician career paths. SkillsUSA students will be conducting tours of the campus, and students who are currently enrolled in the programs will be offering demonstrations of the skills they have mastered, including: the cosmetology students doing nails and the culinary students preparing the food. EMS students will be doing blood pressure checks, and the automotive students will compete in a spark plug changing event.
