FAS Good For White Plains

I am a resident of White Plains for 42 years (minus my time in school).  I live in the Soundview/Highlands Section of White Plains as a matter of reference.  Let's be honest for a second and stop playing games:  White Plains was afforded the opportunity to buy the land for the same if not less price, but duet o your group's intervention it was not. This could have been a great place that White Plains could have not only generated a tax base (sales tax, payroll tax, etc), but would have been a "social" club that would have allowed residents to go to instead of joining private clubs in other Cities (probably like the ones most of your neighbors go to). Instead you rallied against it. You and your group have cost White Plains a great location for the WHOLE city to benefit from not just the few. What you have failed to mention is all the FREE and public space that the school is going to open to the City. Is that not good enough for the City? Of course not. You don't want it. So that means its bad for the City. Your intentions have nothing to do with the betterment of White Plains. You only care about your neighborhood. You know that due to the limited amount of buildable space and wetlands, a developer would never buy it. Make no mistake about what you really are trying to accomplish: you want this place to fall into foreclosure (or the like) so it will revert to a public area that only you will be able to enjoy. You knew that only the City or a school would be in the position to buy it. Well you fought against the City buying it and now it's going to be a school. You played a game and hoped to benefit from it. You lost. I am glad that the common council has seen through your lies and game playing.  If you really cared about White Plains, you would be offering an alternative that is realistic and good for all of White Plains...all you want is a "bigger back yard".
