FASNY: NO SPECIAL PERMIT

The City of White Plains has released the Environmental Findings Statement pertaining to The French American School of New York’s application to develop a regional school complex on the former Ridgeway Country Club.  A Special Meeting of the Common Council on Monday, December 9, at 7:00 PM has been scheduled for a vote on the resolution.  A link to the Environmental Findings Statement is attached.  Regrettably, the document recommends adoption of the Statement which finds that the adverse environmental impacts resulting from the school can be mitigated.  It further recommends adoption of a plan that would permit a student body of 950 plus related personnel.  The findings are flawed and the proposed school density is unacceptable and if constructed will have a deleterious impact on the health, safety and welfare of all White Plains residents especially the White Plains High School students.
