Nadine Hunt-Robinson Appointed to White Plains Common Council

For Immediate Release

White Plains NY (February 20, 2014)   Nadine Hunt-Robinson has been approved by a unanimous vote to fill the seat vacated by Benjamin Boykin on the White Plains Common Council.  Mr. Boykin was elected as the County Legislator of District 5 in November, creating the open seat.

 The White Plains City Charter provides the Common Council the option of choosing an interim appointee to the seat, who is subject to run in a special election the following fall, to retain the seat for the 2015 year of Mr. Boykin’s unexpired term.  Ms. Hunt-Robinson is the first African American woman to sit on the White Plains Common Council.

 Ms. Hunt- Robinson is a dynamic business leader and attorney.  She holds a Juris Doctor from Villanova University Law School and is employed by Zurich American Insurance Company, specializing in environmental issues.   She demonstrates a commitment to community service by volunteering in service programs for organizations such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Pi Iota Omega Chapter, Big Brothers Big Sisters, NAACP, and The Woman’s Club of White Plains.

 Ms. Hunt-Robinson lives in the Fisher Hill section of White Plains with her husband Rev. Dr. Tyrone H. Robinson, pastor of the First Community Baptist Church of Greenburgh.
