Westchester Magazine’s Wine & Food Week Hosts First Ever Culinary Event for Kids

Exclusive Opportunity to Learn Tricks of the Trade from The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester Culinary Team

Westchester Magazine’s Fourth Annual Wine & Food Week has expanded to 19 events across one week from June 3rd- 8th.  One of the premier culinary gatherings in the Northeast, the event has grown to become a regional destination for foodophiles and oenophiles alike, and for the first time ever will be presenting The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester Junior Chefs Academy for children ages 7-17 on Saturday, June 7 from 10 AM to 12 PM.

In a family-friendly gnocchi-making session, Junior Chefs will have the opportunity to work with The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester culinary team and learn everything from how to crack eggs, roll and kneading dough and boil. Every participant will be able to leave with new skills and enough leftovers to make a tasty meal at home!

“Our hope is to get kids actively engaged with the culinary world. They will get the confidence that they can create something in the kitchen that is not going to come in a paper bag from a fast-food restaurant,” said Ralph Martinelli, Publisher of Westchester Magazine. “They can also meet other kids and make new friends. The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester culinary staff is stellar and will teach them a lot of techniques that will serve them well in the kitchen.”

Junior Chefs will learn everything from kitchen safety and cooking techniques to fun recipes that they can take home with them and recreate with family and friends.
