White Plains Downtown Farmer's Market Open for Business

One of the longest-running Westchester County Farmer's Markets opens for business on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.  The market takes place every Wednesday, through November, from 8:00AM - 4:00PM, rain or shine.  It is located on the entire Court Street block, between Main Street and Martine Avenue.

Our fabulous regular farms will be returning:  S&So Produce, a family owned and operated farm from the black dirt region of Orange County; Mead Orchards of Tivoli, Dutchess County, NY, also  family-owned and operated, specializing in heirloom apples, stone fruit, berries and vegetables; Westchester Greenhouses of Hartsdale, a multi-generational family business and Rolling Ridge Farm from the Amish country of Pennsylvania, who also carry a full range of homemade baked goods.

In addition, Arch River Farms and Canning Jar of Millbrook, NY will be returning with their locally-raised beef, pork, poultry and eggs, homemade low-sugar jams, preserves and fruit butters.  Anna's Spices, Olive Oils of the World, Sweet Things and Wild Thyme Honey, Meredith's Bread, Conte's Fish Market, Teagevity and Doctor Pickle will also be returning, as well as a new purveyor of homemade cured meats, salami, pates and smoked duck breast, Larchmont Charcuterie.

Remember, when you support your local farmer's market, not only are you supporting small, family-run businesses which are important to our local economies, you are reducing the carbon footprint of the foods you consume.  You actually get to meet the people who are producing the food that you are putting on your table.  Since the food travels shorter distances to get to you, fewer, or no preservatives/pesticides are needed.  During our beautiful spring, summer and autumn growing seasons, with so much local bounty available, this is definitely the way to shop!
