White Plains Harley Riders Club raises money for cancer support

The White Plains NY Harley Riders Club, presented their annual “Pennies Against Cancer” fundraising contribution collection to Gilda’s Club Westchester on Wednesday, January 28 with support from TD Bank on Mamaroneck Avenue.“Every penny counts in the fight against cancer,” said Gilda’s Club Westchester CEO Melissa Lang. “Without the support of the community, we couldn’t continue to carry out our mission to provide critical emotional support to anyone — men, women, teens, and children —impacted by any type of cancer, completely free of charge.”The White Plains NY Harley Riders started “Pennies against Cancer” after losing one of their own to cancer.  “We realized quickly that if we all came together, we could make an impact that will directly affect one in two men and one in three women in our lifetime,” said Chapter President, Dennis Morgan. “Choosing Gilda’s Club Westchester as the recipient of our efforts was what our dear friend would have wanted,” continued Morgan. For more than ten years, Gilda’s Club Westchester has been a leading provider of support for individuals impacted by cancer throughout Westchester, Rockland and lower Fairfield counties. With the support of organizations and groups like The White Plains NY Harley Riders, Gilda’s Club Westchester will continue to expand its innovative programs, which are an essential complement to medical care, both in the Clubhouse and out in the community.
