4 Accused of Stealing Scrap Metal Near Vacant Office

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate convictions.

An officer passing by an abondoned office building on W Post Road discovered four people attempting to take items to be used as scrap metal, police say.

Police charged Dwight Gilzene, 46, of 9 Myrtle Ave., Lamont Atkinson, 41, of 141 Ferris Ave., Vernon Hall, 45, of 188 Fisher Ave, and Tracey Brabham, 43, of 188 Fisher Ave, with 3rd-degree burglary, a felony, and misdemeanor petty larceny.

The officer noticed the suspects moving filing cabinets and other items just outside the building at 95 W Post Road on Dec. 6 at about 3 p.m., police say.

Police say the total value of the items amounted to only a few hundred dollars.

The suspects were charged at police headquarters.
