Greenburgh Man Commits Suicide in City Motel

White Plains Police Commissioner David Chong said the 19-year-old was discovered by his parents early Tuesday morning.

A 19-year-old Greenburgh man committed suicide in the in White Plains early Tuesday morning, police say.

The man died at 2:41 a.m. from asphyxia after placing a plastic bag filled with helium over his head, according to the county medical examiner's office. His parents found his body at about 5:30 a.m. in the hotel at 441 Central Ave, said White Plains Police Commissioner David Chong.

Officials pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner's office. The death been ruled a suicide.

The 19-year-old was a graduate of the Ardsley school system and worked in Scarsdale.
