Man Accused of Buying Crack-Cocaine on S Lex

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A White Plains man was arrested Saturday night after police say he purchased crack-cocaine from another man on S Lexington Ave. in White Plains.

Phillip Jones, 44, of 235 S Lexington Ave. was charged with 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police say Jones met with an unidentified man on the street near Jones' apartment and handed the second man money in exchange for a small item.

Police stopped Jones as he walked toward Maple Ave. and found a bag of crack-cocaine in his pocket, according to an arrest report. Police searched the area for the second man, but were unable to find him.

Jones was charged at police headquarters and released.
