Man Threatens Girlfriend, Steals Her iPhone: Cops

Bronx man hit with felony, misdemeanor charges after incident in White Plains, police said.

A Bronx man loudly accused his girlfriend of cheating in front of the Whole Foods on Bloomingdale Road in White Plains last week, and then threatened to cut her before swiping her iPhone, cops said.

Mohammad Yaffa, 22-years-old, harassed his girlfriend while she was on duty at the downtown supermarket at about 6 p.m., cops said. The two stepped outside, where Yaffa yelled at her and accused her of being unfaithful.

When the girlfriend tried to return to work, Yaffa grabbed her arm and threatened to cut her, but did not brandish a weapon, authorities said. He then snatched her iPhone and ran away.

Police caught up with Yaffa shortly afterward, on Bloomingdale Road, where he was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony, and criminal possession of stolen property and menacing, both misdemeanors.
