NJ Man Accused of Forgery, Identity Theft

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police have charged a New Jersey man with multiple felonies after they say he used a fake name to obtain a credit card at and then racked-up $4,780 in charges.

The man was caught by store management Thursday evening, police say. He had used a fake South Carolina driver's license to create the account, according to police.

Police arrested the New Jersey resident at the store on Paulding Street at about 7:15 p.m. Arrest reports say police found the fake South Carolina license as well as a driver's license from Maryland on the man at the time of his arrest.

Police charged the man with one count of third-degree forgery, a felony, and one count of identity theft, a felony.

The New Jersey resident was arrested and booked at police headquarters where he was held for court the following day.
