Police: 2 Caught Smoking Pot in City Garage

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man and woman caught smoking marijuana in a City parking garage this weekend face misdemeanor charges, police say.

During routine patrol of the parking garage at 9 Chester Avenue police noticed the couple passing a cigar in their vehicle at about 1 a.m. Saturday. After smelling marijuana, police say they searched the vehicle and found a cigar containing what appeared to be marijuana in the car's center console.

The woman, 22, of Nanuet, and the man, 28, of Spring Valley, where charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. The man was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Both were released on $100 cash bail and are due back in White Plains court on May 17.
