Police: 28 Grams of Pot Found in Parked Car

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

Following the smell of marijuana to a car in a White Plains parking garage, police discovered more than 28 grams of pot and arrested a Bronx man this week, police say.

Dean Scott, 25, of 4038 Wilder Ave., was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth-degree, a misdemeanor.

Police noticed the smell of marijuana in the 11 Mitchell Pl. garage just before 5 a.m. on Dec. 8. Officers in the area noticed a vehicle parked in the lot occupied by two men and spotted a rolled marijuana cigarette in the vehicle as they approached.

While searching the vehicle police say they found a backpack holding two Ziploc bags that contained marijuana. The marijuana weighed a total of about 28.4 grams, according to an arrest report.

Scott admitted the marijuana was his, police say, and he was transported to police headquarters. Scott was later released on $50 bail.
