Police: Attempted Bike Theft on Fisher Ave.

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police say an alert witness helped them prevent a possible bike theft on Fisher Ave. Wednesday evening.

A 29-year-old White Plains man was charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanors.

Police say a witness became suspicious after the 29-year-old walked into the Rochambeau School on Fisher Ave. and the immediately walked out. The witness told police he then saw the man grab two bikes and leave the area at about 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

As man fled toward Tibbits Ave., police say the witness threatened to call police. The man on the bike returned, but the witness called police anyway.

The suspect was processed at police headquarters and released on $500 bail.
