Police: Journal News Employee Harassed

The employee believes he is being targeted because of an article published in The Journal News that had an interactive map showing the names and addresses of handgun permit holders in Westchester and Rockland Counties.

An Irvington resident, who works for The Journal News, called police twice on Dec. 26 to report that he received several unwanted phone calls.

He believes he is being targeted because of an article published in The Journal News that had an interactive map showing the names and addresses of handgun permit holders in Westchester and Rockland Counties.

The story sparked outrage, controversy and discussion over free speech, privacy, freedom of information and gun control. Name and addresses of employees of The Journal News were posted on Facebook and pro-gun websites.

Following The Journal News’ article, the newspaper had two separate incidents where employees came across packages of suspicious power. Click here for more on that story.

Obviously the Editor did not think about her employees when she decided to publish the names and addresses of handgun permit holders. This kind of response rests soley on her doorstep. Threats and other bad actions aren't the answer. Hopefully now that the shoe is on the other foot the editor and any other editor that wants to publish information of this nature will think twice. However if they don't they can't cry about the consequences.

man o man, when newspapers bought and paid for by Mobama do not think, and then act (as well as needing the hits to bolster a sagging readership), they play out the gun grab agenda that turns dangerous ... PirateBay (?) users hacked the user data base of Lohud and put up a sample on Pastebin. Personal info on the users, enough to go for ID fraud, has been loosed. Now this guy is getting phone calls. Lohud did not think about what it was doing. It should take down the map and stop it's idiocy.

Shouldn't this article be titled Journal News Employee Reaps what Journal News Sowed?? I find it very difficult to have any empathy for the snake charmer who is bitten by his own snake.
