Police: Man Arrested After Domestic Fight

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A City man faces a felony charge after police say he tried to choke his girlfriend after she tried to end their relationship

Kevin Barksdale, 22, of 225 Martin Luther King Boulevard, faces a felony charge of second-degree strangulation and misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say the dispute began Sunday evening when Barksdale's girlfriend attempted to end their relationship. The fight carried on into Monday afternoon, when police say the 22-year-old pushed and shoved the woman to the floor and then choked her inside of his apartment.

There were two children home during the fight, police say.

A family member broke up the dispute, and the victim was able to call police at about 1:50 p.m., police say. Barksdale was arrested later that day, according to an arrest report.
