Police: Man Jumps Fare After Taxi Ride to White Plains

The following arrest report was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man police say tried to avoid paying a $25 cab fare for a ride from Yonkers to White Plains faces a misdemeanor theft of services charge.

A driver for Family Taxi flagged down a police officer while chasing the man down Mamaroneck Avenue on Saturday at about 11:15 p.m. The cab driver told police the man, 20, had agreed to pay $25 for a ride from his home in Yonkers to White Plains but tried to run upon arrival.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken to police headquarters.
