Three attackers left a man bleeding in the stairway of the Winbrook Housing Complex early Tuesday after stabbing the victim in the side with box cutters, police say.
Police arrested Thomas Scriber, 27, of 70 Ferris Ave., Terrance Reed, 25, of 155 Ferris Ave. and Keith Shaw, 26, of 108 Ferris Ave, as the suspects left the housing complex at about 4:23 a.m. Police were responding to the complex at 33 Fischer Ave. after reports of a fight.
Police found a victim bleeding in the fourth floor stairwell. He had minor puncture wounds to his back and side, police said. After refusing to cooporate at first, the victim eventually told police the three suspects had "jumped and stabbed him" with box cutters.
Reed, Shaw and Scriber were charged with felony second-degree assault, criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Shaw, the only suspect who talked with police, admitted a fight had taken place, but denied using any weapons, according to a police report. Police never found boc cutters at the scene, but said the injuries to the victim were consistent with cuts from a blade or sharp object.
