Police: Man Steals Macy's Clothes in Backpack

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Valhalla man stuffed jeans, sweatpants and a pack of T-shirts into a black backpack in the changing room at Macy's and then walked out of the store, police say.

The man, a 25-year-old from Valhalla, was stopped by security and arrested just after 6 p.m. Monday. Police charged him with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. 

The suspect tried to take $243.98 worth of clothes including two pairs of jeans, one pair of sweatpants and the pack of shirts, according to an arrest report. He was transported to police headquarters and held for court.
