Police say a Stamford, CT, woman used an empty baby stroller to conceal more than $500 worth of goods from Wal Mart during a shoplifting attempt this week.
Store security stopped the 34-year-old woman as she tried to walk out of the store at 275 Main St. at about 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 12. Security had noticed the woman placing merchandise in the stroller while browsing the store, according to an arrest report.
The store estimated the total value of the goods to be about $545.
Police charged the woman with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. She was taken to police headquarters and held on $500 bail, according to an arrest report.
