Police Seeking Mother of Infant Found Dead at Recycling Center

Police investigating the death of the baby boy whose body was found at recycling center in Elmsford expressed concerns that the infant's mother may also be a victim during a joint press conference in Spring Valley Thursday.

Spring Valley, Elmsford and Westchester County Police are handling the joint investigation and actively searching for the mother. They spoke near the Maple Avenue Convenience Center in Spring Valley, where they believe the baby was dumped in a recycling bin. 

Police described the murder of the baby as brutal. A worker at Brookdale Recylcing found the body at 3 p.m. Nov. 12. 

The reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction has been increased to $5,000. There will be a service for the infant, who has been named Angel, Saturday in Spring Valley.
