Cops: Traffic Stop Uncovers Stolen Car

White Plains cops pull driver over for swerving and learn car is stolen, according to authorities.

A routine traffic stop in White Plains last Sunday led police to uncover a stolen car, authorities told Patch.

An officer spotted a black Mazda MZ3 traveling east on Main Street near North Lexington on Feb. 17 at about 11 p.m. The vehicle was sporting Maryland plates and driving erratically, police said.

Police pulled the driver over, who told authorities he was swerving to avoiding potholes. But when officers ran the license plate, they learned the vehicle had been stolen in early February, police said.
