Police: White Plains Man Stopped for DWI Found with 44 Ounces of Heroin

He's arrested by state troopers on Taconic State Parkway.

A White Plains man stopped for a traffic violation on the the Taconic State Parkway was found with 44 ounces of heroin, according to State Police.

Gary Matos, 43, of White Plains, was also found to be intoxicated and was driving while he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system, state troopers based in Poughkeepsie said.

Matos was stopped by troopers on Friday at 4:15 p.m. in the Dutchess County town of LaGrange. As police were citing him for numerous vehicle and traffic violations they found that Matos was intoxicated.

During the investigation troopers discovered the heroin.

Matos was arrested and arraigned in LaGrange Town Court. He was ordered held in the Dutchess County Jail pending a hearing Tuesday in LaGrance Town Court.
