Police: Woman Pulls Knife During Clash With Roomate

Police say the fight was over trash left inside the apartment and bills. This arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

A White Plains woman pulled a knife and threatened her roommate and her roommate’s boyfriend in their 12 Woodcrest Ave. apartment Sunday evening during a fight over bills and household cleaning, police say.

Mercedes Gramajo, 37, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all misdemeanors.

Police say an argument over bill payments and trash cleanup escalated to violence shortly after Gramajo grabbed a 12-inch knife from the kitchen and threatened the couple. Gramajo eventually handed the knife to her son before scratching and biting her roomate's boyfriend, according to an arrest report.
