Stuart Goldberg’s Accounting License Revoked

The owner of Head 2 Head toy store in Irvington was suspended for professional misconduct for pleading guilty in 2010 to kissing and hugging a 12-year-old girl.

Stuart Goldberg, who pleaded guilty to inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl in his Irvington toy store in 2010, is no longer licensed to practice accounting in New York and is facing a substantial fine because of the criminal conviction.

The New York State Board of Regents indefinitely suspended the 57-year-old’s license to practice. Goldberg's license was suspended for professional misconduct and he was given a $2,500 fine.

Goldberg, a resident of Irvington who owns Head 2 Head Toys and Games at 86 Main St., was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor for hugging and kissing the 12-year-old in the back of his gaming and memorabilia store.

Goldberg had to pay a fine of $750, plus $205 to cover the cost of DNA sampling and had to undergo a mandatory treatment program. He will also have to appear in court periodically to prove compliance with his sentence, give a sample of his DNA to police for their records and stay away from the victim for five years.

According to The Journal News, Goldberg would have to submit a report from a mental health professional demonstrating that he was “psychologically fit to practice” to get his license back. If his license were restored he would be on probation for two years.

A disciplinary report by the Regents Review Committee expressed concern about Goldberg doing accounting work in homes of clients with children since the conviction “is a serious one involving abusive conduct toward a child of a clearly sexual nature,” The Journal News said.
