Vehicle Engulfed in Fire in Northern Westchester

New Castle police, Westchester County police and the Chappaqua Fire Department responded to the scene on Thursday morning.

 

The eastern side of Exit 33 on the Saw Mill River Parkway, which is by Chappaqua Crossing, was blocked off Thursday morning after a vehicle was engulfed in a fire by the Metro-North train tracks.

The Saw Mill was reopened as of approximately 9:44 a.m. County police responded to it at about 8:47 a.m., police confirmed. It was described by police as a fully involved fire.

The vehicle appeared to have been gutted by the fire. New Castle police, Westchester County police and the Chappaqua Fire Department responded to the scene. There were no injuries, county police said.
