White Plains Man Arrested Under Leandra's Law

A 15-year-old was in the vehicle's front passenger seat. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The following report was provided by the New York State Police: 

On July 28 at approximately 10:06 p.m., the New York State Police in Hawthorne arrested James W. Batson, 63, of White Plains for felony driving while intoxicated. Police stopped Batson for vehicle and traffic violations for moving from lane unsafely and speeding on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh. Batson was operating the vehicle with a 15-year-old front seat passenger. Batson was found to be intoxicated with a BAC of 0.11%. Batson was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated. Batson was held at SP Hawthorne and is to be arraigned on July 29 in the Town of Greenburgh Court.
