White Plains Police Arrest Suspect in Lake Street Burglaries

A 57-year-old homeless man suspected of committing a number of burglaries in the area of Lake Street is scheduled to appear in White Plains city court later this month.

White Plains police arrested Reginald A. Robinson, 53, and charged him with counts second-degree burglary, a felony, after he was caught in the area of  7 Lake St. on July 29.  

At about 3:34 p.m., a maintenance worker told police he noticed Robinson acting suspiciously on the hallway of 7 Lake St.  When the worker got a closer look at Robinson, he told police that he recognized him as the suspect in a burglary that took place in the building earlier in the week.

The worker contacted 911 and kept an eye on Robinson until police arrived at the scene. Police units arrived and set up a perimeter. A foot pursuit ensued, but  police units able to bring Robinson into custody.

After a comprehensive investigation, Robinson was charged with two burglaries from 7 Lake Street and one from 11 Lake Street from December of 2012.

Robinson, who was on parole at the time of his arrest, was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in city court on Aug. 21.
