State police in Hawthorne announced Wednesday the arrest of a White Plains rabbi for impersonating a police officer while driving. It is the fourth unrelated incident in which the rabbi has been charged for impersonating a police officer.

Alfredo Borodowski, a 49-year-old White Plains resident and a rabbi at Congregation Sulam Yaakov in Larchmont, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, for an incident in Greenburgh that allegedly happened in May. Police said Borodowski followed a 30-year-old woman as she drove south on the Sprain Brook Parkway, exited off Jackson Ave. and stopped at a traffic light.

Borodowski then approached the motorist with a police type badge in hand and angrily banged on the woman's window telling, her that she was going to be arrested for driving too slowly. The woman refused to roll down her window and the Rabbi continued banging and stated she would be arrested for reckless driving, according to police

Last week, state police charged Borodowski for an April incident in which he allegedly pulled alongside a vehicle driven by Scarsdale man on Interstate 87 in Yonkers and flashed a police badge at him during a road rage. A video recording of the incident was made by the passenger in the Scardale man’s car.

That same week, Borodowski turned himself in to White Plains police on Wednesday in connection to another May incident in which he allegedly flashed his badge at a driver for driving too slow.

Borodowski was told to undergo a mental evaluation in Mamaroneck village court after he pleaded not guilty to charge of second-degree criminal impersonation for another incident that took place in June. In that incident, Borodowski allegedly drove up alongside a woman's car, flashed a badge and shouted "Police! Police! Pull over!”

Borodowski's attorney, Andrew Rubin, has stated that his client suffers from bipolar disorder.

Borodowski was arraigned on the latest charge and released to reappear in Greenburgh court Aug. 2.
