Woman Stole $1,125 Dress from Nieman Marcus, Police Say

Employees saw theft occur through security cameras, according to authorities.

White Plains police nabbed an alleged shoplifter Friday who tried to pilfer a $1,125 dress, authorities said.

Nieman Marcus employees at 1 Paulding St. spotted through security cameras a shopper take an Escada dress off a hanger and place it in her bag at 12:50 p.m., police said.

Employees followed the woman—61-year-old Joann Colletti of the Bronx—out of the store and confronted her. She refused to re-enter the store, but returned the dress, police said.

Colletti was soon after arrested and charged with grand larceny, a felony.
