Wrong-Way Driver Was Drunk, Police Say

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A White Plains man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police say he was caught driving the wrong way down N Lexington Ave., a one-way street.

Police say Angelobed Rios, 26, passed an officer driving the wrong way at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The officer reports Rios proceeded to pass through two intersections without stopping before he was eventually pulled over near Water St.

Rios, 26, of 25 Longview Ave., appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, according to police.

Police charged Rios with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as well as several traffic violations.
