A Brief on Tuesday’s City Meetings

TThe White Plains Common Council met Tuesday and voted to set the special election for March 31 and to move the vote to hire back firefighters to Friday. The Board of Ethics will dismiss investigation on Bradley

The White Plains Common Council unanimously approved a resolution that would set the special election date for March 31 at a special meeting on Tuesday.  .

Since the council is one member short, with former Mayor Adam Bradley’s resignation, they must move a motion to vote on a resolution at one meeting, and vote on it at another. The council planned to vote to hire back seven city firefighters, but will vote on the matter on Friday morning at a special meeting. All council members said they supported hiring back the firefighters.

The Board of Ethics also met Tuesday night. Chairman Mark Elliott said the board has decided to dismiss their investigation of Bradley for lack of jurisdiction, since he is now a private citizen. .
