Monday, April 16
White Plains students head back to school today after spring break. The schools will be closed on May 25 and May 29, as a give back day for the lack of snow days
The White Plains Common Council will discuss expenditures for public work department in regards to the proposed 2012-13 city budget at a special meeting at 6 p.m. at . The meeting taped and posted on the City’s website and public access channel. The White Plains Board of Education will vote to a adopt a proposed budget for the 2012-13 school year, which will be put before voters in May, at their regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at in room B-1.
FASNY, the Salvation Army and requests from various religious institutions for expansion will be on agenda for tonight's meeting of the White Plains Conservation board at 8 p.m. at city hall, 255 Main St. Click for the agenda.

Last day to file your taxes
Superintendent Dr. Christopher Clouet will hold evening hours from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
New York State ELA Exams at 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. for White Plains Schools
The Westchester County chapter of MoveOn.org will hold a “tax the 1 percent day” day event at the to protest the 1 percent who they say do not pay their fair share of taxes. The event starts at 2 p.m. Click for details.

New York State ELA Exams 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. for White Plains Schools
The district-wide early release for White Plains Public Schools is canceled
Watch a screening of “Revenge of the Electric Car” and meet director Chris Paine, who will discuss why he was compelled to create this film. White Plains Mayor Tom Roach will also discuss electric car initiatives in White Plains. The film will be shown at 6 p.m. Click for ticket prices and details.
