City's Veterans Day Ceremony Moved to City Hall

The event will take place Sunday morning at the Sailor's Monument in the White Plains Rural Cemetery on N Broadway.

White Plains will honor local veterans during a ceremony at the White Plains Rural Cemetary Sunday morning.

The event will include recollections and insights from keynote speaker Colonel J.J. Dill, an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran. Ricardo Sheppard, a retired U.S. Marine will be this year's honaree. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. at 167 N Broadway.

The event was organized by the Mayor's Veteran's Committee.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks the White Plains Marine Corps League, Westchester County Detachment, and Col. Wayne J. McGrath, the Veteran’s Committee Chairman, for their continued work onbehalf of veterans,” said White Plains Mayor Tom Roach. “I invite all residents to attend this ceremony and pay tribute to ourveterans who have sacrificed so greatly.”
