Gov. Cuomo: White Plains Awarded $1M for Transportation Center Project

The money is part of a $715.9 million funding pool awarded through Round Three of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative.

The City of White Plains was awarded $1 million for its multi-modal transportation center redevelopment project in the third round of the state’s Regional Economic Development Council initiative, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday.

The initiative, established in 2011, tasks regional stakeholders with developing strategic plans for projects that will create jobs and support economic growth in their communities.

The White Plains Multimodal Transportation Center Redevelopment Project will provide an enhanced multi-modal transportation center that serves all modes of travel and maximizes the economic development potential of the area. The project is also expected to create a welcoming new place that will transform the station area and provide an attractive and functional gateway for the city’s downtown core.
