The following is video clip of speech that U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, gave on the floor of the House of Representatives this morning to urge House Republicans to avoid a government shutdown that would threaten basic government services and hurt the economy.
Lowey's represent the 17th Congressional Disrict. The district encompasses much of Westchester County, including White Plains, Scarsdale and Harrison, and all of Rockland County.
