Early Numbers Show 7,100 Enrolled in White Plains Schools

A little more than 7,100 students have enrolled into White Plains schools as of Sept. 27, according to preliminary figures given by the district's interim Superintendent Tim Connor.

That represents a slight increase from the 6,957 that the district reported in 2011-2012, in the 2013 New York State School Report Card. The school appeared to have made the biggest jump in enrollment from 2011-2012 to now is the Post Road School, which went from 534 students to 621.

Connor said the district would have final enrollment figures nailed down by Tuesday and that the matter would likely be discussed during the Oct. 7 school board meeting.
