Third Annual Earth Citizen Walk and Family Picnic

Celebrate the Earth and each other at the third annual Earth Citizen Walk and Family Picnic, which will be held at Rockland Lake State Park.

Registration for the walk is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the walk starts at 10 a.m. Take a one mile walk—rain or shine, strollers are welcome—or stay for the three mile walk.

The cost is $20 per family pre-registration, and $25 for on-site registration. You can pre-register at www.ibreaus.org.

The event includes free children’s face painting, tai chi, drumming demonstrations, raffles and more. Stay for lunch after the walk, vegetarian lunch boxes will be provided by Eastern Kitchen for $5.

There is an $8 per car parking fee (park in field #1).

Proceeds to benefit International Brain Education Association (IBREA) and Rockland Farm Alliance.

The IBREA teaches brain education to help individuals develop their full potential by properly using their brains, in an effort to create a happy, healthy and peaceful world.

Brain Education combines Eastern mind-body training with Western neuro-scientific advancements to develop the brain, including physical exercises for flexibility and coordination, as well as mental exercises that increase focus and attention, as well as other exercises that develop motivation, emotional stability, creativity and imagination.

Rockland Farm Alliance is a community coalition that was started to facilitate local sustainable agriculture in Rockland, and also provides education resources to bring awareness to the need for local food resources.
