’s staff is hitting the stage to perform your favorite Motown, R&B and Soul hits this Thursday to raise money for a new school playground.
“Everyone can expect a show packed with surprises,” said Ridgeway Principal Tashia Brown. “Ridgeway needs a new playground that is more modern, safe and accessible to all children.”
, which will honor Black History Month, starts at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner of traditional Southern cuisine before the show starts at 7:45 p.m. The school’s playground campaign is looking to raise $100,000. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-year-old and up. Make sure to get your ticket ahead of time, in the school’s main office, so the school can make they have enough food prepared and tickets available.
“The idea for the ‘Soul Revue’ was a collaborative effort from two of Ridgeway's assistant teachers, Ms. Monaco and Mr. Havis,” said Brown. “The idea came about after a conversation that was had involving karaoke and something that the faculty and staff could participate in. I’m supposed to be performing, but having some stage fright.”
