Superintendent to Email Parents after Post Denouncing Rye HS Principal

A public board post on Rye Patch that accuses Rye High School Principal Patricia Taylor of wrongdoing is stirring discussion in the community.

Rye City Schools Superintendent Dr. Frank Alvarez plans to email parents and faculty Tuesday afternoon, district officials say, following a public posting to Rye Patch that makes accusations about Rye High School Principal Patricia Taylor.

It isn't clear how much truth is contained in the posting, made under the name "Mary Grace," though it has set off a divisive discussion among Patch users, some defending Taylor with some others backing up its claims. The post accuses Taylor of mismanagement and ill treatment of faculty, among other claims.

Officials with the district declined to comment to Patch. When reached by Patch, the head of the Rye High School Parents Organization said more time is needed to assess the claims before making an official comment.

Patch will post Alvarez's letter to parents and faculty as soon as it is available.
