White Plains School Officials Seek Public Input for Superintendent Search

District officials have set up three community forums and questionnaire to help determine the qualities district stakeholders desire want from a new school's chief.

The White Plains Board of Education has announced a schedule of community meetings to develop a profile of the new Superintendent of Schools who will be appointed in the coming year.

The public is invited to meet and provide input to representatives School Leadership, LLC. , the consultants leading the search. This highly experienced school executive recruitment firm has conducted successful searches for Rye, Edgemont, Hastings-on-Hudson and many other Westchester schools.

Members of the public are invited to participate in this process and are encouraged to attend one of the following sessions:

  • Monday, Nov. 18, 5:30 p.m., White Plains High School Media Center
  • Monday, Nov. 18, 7 p.m., White Plains High School Media Center (Spanish 
  • Tuesday, Nov. 19, 7 p.m., Education House Assembly Room
In addition, the consultants will meet with groups of staff members, students and others and will report on the resulting profile at a public meeting of the Board of Education on Monday, Dec. 9, 7:30 p.m., in the B-1 Room at the High School.

To facilitate the information-gathering process, the consultants have developed a questionnaire which may be obtained in the window above or by going to  www.surveymonkey.com/s/wpps. These should be completed and brought to a public meeting or returned to the consultants as indicated on the questionnaire.
