WPHS Bakes to Feed the Hungry

Wise Project on cake decorating culminates in $562 donation by WPHS senior(Graduate Class of 2012) Maria Mendez to The Great American Bake Sale to end Childhood Hunger in America.

Five Hundred Sixty Two Dollars was raised by Maria Mendez, a senior (now recent graduate) of the Class of 2012 at and donated to Share our Strength – The Great American Bake Sale to end Childhood Hunger in America.

This was a culminating activity after Maria completed a Wise Individualized Senior Experience (Wise) Project and Presentation on Cake Decorating . She baked cupcakes, collected baked items and spearheaded a Great American Bake Sale during one of our 44 minute lunch periods.

She raised Three hundred Dollars then and later accumulated with one other activity the total enclosed with the support of the entire staff of the high school.

We are proud of the commitment and dedication of Maria Mendez who not only successfully completed the mission of the Wise Program but also reaffirmed that our future leaders value community and humanity.

Maria Mendez as well Christoph Munnilal, Djems Telcy, Marianna Rodriguez, Ania Campbell,Lily Basile,Brenda Lopez,Orelvis Lazala, Jennifer Abreu, Mulasia Tyler Perry Garry Francois, Carlos Chavez, Emily Mora, and Kenneth Wise earned credit from the Wise Program.
