Bronx River And Taconic Road Closures on July 3

Sections near the Kensico Dam will be closed for the fireworks display on Tuesday.

For those motorists heading to, or hiding from, the on Tuesday, take note. Westchester County is closing portions of the Bronx River Parkway and the Taconic State Parkway on July 3.

According to a travel advisory from the County Executive's Office, the northbound side of the Bronx River Parkway will be shut down from Virginia Road to the Kensico Dam Plaza (Taconic State Parkway connector) on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. - midnight.

The travel restriction is in place for the The event is held annually at the Kensico Dam.

Also on July 3, the Taconic State Parkway will be closed to commuters from Commerce Street to the Kensico Dam Plaza from 5:00 p.m. - midnight, according to the county.

Motorists will be alerted of the road closures with message signs, however, officials are asking drivers to take alternate routes as traffic delays are expected.
