Severe Thunderstorms in White Plains Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Putnam counties, as well as southern Connecticut and northeast New Jersey.

The skies are expected to open this afternoon, with a 70 percent chance of severe thunderstorms that could bring hail damaging winds, heavy rain and the possibility of an isolated tornado.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and says that storms should start by 5 p.m. and end by 10 p.m. in White Plains.

It also warns that “an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.”
