“Unfiltered” Unsigned Talent Showcase

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festa Italiana

White Plains Family Fun Fest

  • Why Go: Enjoy a day in filled with food, dancing, music, theatrical performances, crafts and more! Click for details.

The 90th Annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast

  • When/Where:  Wednesday, July 11-Sunday, July 15, 6 p.m. until midnight, with fireworks on Sunday night at 11 p.m. at 8th Street and Broadway in Verplanck. Italian Mass at will be held at 3 p.m.
  • Why Go:  People will come to Verplanck from as far as the Bronx and New Jersey this week for five nights of festivities, music, games,raffles rides, fireworks, parades and more, hosted by the Verplanck Fire Department.
  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a non-profit organization established in 1922 by a handful of Italian immigrants from Calabria, Italy, most of who worked at a quarry in Verplanck. The Society has grown from that to a group with 135 members and a Ladies Auxiliary with more than 30 members. Organizers proudly throw the feast every year to keep their heritage alive and raise funds for their organization, which go towards charity and community outreach events throughout the year.
  • There will also be an Italian-American Idol competition with cash prizes held on Friday at 6 p.m. Firemen's parade is Saturday at 6 p.m.
  • Price:  Free admission 

8th Annual Pleasantville Music Festival

  • When/Where:  Saturday, July 14, 12 noon-8:30 p.m. at in Pleasantville—free parking and round-trip bus service between Pace University and the Festival site will be provided from 11:30 a.m. through 10 p.m.
  • Why Go: A family-friendly event that features music on three stages with nationally recognized musicians as well as Hudson Valley area favorites, including The English Beat, Good Old War, Delta Spirit, Davy Knowles, Sloan Wainwright, ReignJah, Susan Said and Z.Z. Ward. Vendors and exhibitors will be offering great food, beverages, tasty treats, crafts and more plus a fantastic kids' fun area with free face painting, games and "Miss Patty" Hupp playing their favorites.
  • Price: Adults $40, Children 11 and younger accompanied by a ticket carrying adult are free. Seniors $15, students 12- 22 years of age with I.D. $15 

Butterfly Houses at Teatown Lake Reservation

  • When/Where:  Saturday, July 12, 1 p.m., meeting at Cliffdale Farm—
  • Why Go: Go butterfly hunting with a group who will use nets to catch and release butterflies found in the fields and will end the program by constructing butterfly boxes to take home.
  • Price:  $20 per family for non-members/$15 per family for members, limited to 7 families, one box per family, all materials provided. No children under 6 please, call 914-762-2912 x110 to make a reservation.

Al Fresco Sunday: Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Caramoor

  • When/Where: Sunday, July 15, 4:30 p.m. at
  • Why Go: Introduce your family to Caramoor, and enjoy the sounds of the concert from the picnic lawns.  Listen to the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and dine al fresco on the picnic lawns featuring Ravel, Le tombeau de Couperin(orch. Ravel 1919); Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37 and Beethoven  Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92.
  • Price:  Tickets: $10.00

Free Tom Chapin Concert

  • When/Where: Sunday, July 15, 6 p.m. at the in Yorktown Heights.
  • Why Go:  Bring your lawn chairs/blankets to enjoy a summer concert with food sold by the Yorktown Lions & Leos Clubs.
  • Price:  Free

Polish Heritage Day at Kensico Dam

  • When/Where: Sunday July15, noon to 6 p.m. at
  • Why Go:  Celebrate the rich culture and history of Poland with a fun-filled day featuring live performances of music and dance, traditional food, art & cultural exhibits, entertainment, games and more. There will be live Polka music and costumed dancers in traditional dress performing folk dances. The children of the Polska Sobotnia Szkola group, the children’s Polish heritage group from the Church of Saint Casimir in Yonkers, will recite famous Polish poetry and sing traditional children’s folk songs. Festival-goers can view a Polish-American cultural exhibit presented by the Westchester Pulaski Association that will illustrate Poland’s colorful past with maps, history and narratives.
  • Price:  Admission and parking are free, bring folding chairs or blankets; the event is rain or shine.

St. Patrick's Cathedral Offers Free Tours

  • When/Where:  Monday-Friday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 14 E. 51st Street, NY, NY
  • Why Go: This summer, why not take a free guided tour of one of the beloved landmarks of the city, one that is currently undergoing a restoration. A trained guide will explore the history and traditions that have made St. Patrick’s a favorite destination for millions of worshippers and visitors, alike.
  • Price:  Free 

Ossining Summer Waterfront Concert Series

  • When/Where:  Friday, July 13 and every Friday night through August 31, 7 p.m. at (across from the Ossining Train Station)
  • Why Go: Celebrate the summer with live music, fresh food and stunning views. This summer's lineup:  July 13: Act 3, July 20: The Doug Correllus Quintet, July 27: Jigsaww, August 3: Pete Herger, August 10: KJ Dennard, August 17: Powderfinger, August 24: Teri Lamar & the New Company, August 31:  Mike and Miriam Risko. All events are weather-permitting.
