Bring in the New Year with White Plains; Open House at the County Office Building Wednesday

MONDAY: The White Plains Library is hosting Holiday Jeopardy today at 3 p.m. Contestants ages 7 and older are invited to join a team and play a "holiday" themed trivia game based on the popular TV show, have fun and win prizes. The library is located at 100 Martine Ave.

TUESDAY:  The City of White Plains, in cooperation with the White Plains Business Improvement District (WP BID), will  once again ring in the New Year downtown at the City of White Plains New Year’s Eve Family Spectacular. This free outdoor event will be held on Main Street between Court Street and Renaissance Square on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and will feature: Celebration Entertainment DJ music from 10 p.m.– 11 p.m., the entertainment continues with a musical performance by “Soul Synergy Orchestra” beginning at 11 p.m. The excitement peaks with a fabulous crowd countdown, illuminated ball drop, and a midnight fireworks display by the Zambelli Company.

WEDNESDAY:  Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino is inviting the public to an open house reception on Wednesday, Jan. 1 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the 9th floor of the Michaelian Office Building, located at 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains. THURSDAY: Teens are invited to stop by the White Plains Library and learn how to crochet Thursday at 5 p.m.  Learn to crochet or come and practice. Hooks and yarn are provided. Snacks will be served. Contact Erik Carlson ay (914)  422-6923 for more information.
