Storytime at the White Plains Library; Microsoft Store Hosts Workshop on 3-D Printing

MONDAY: Our Lady of Sorrows School in White Plains invites the public to attend its open house from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday. TUESDAY: The White Plains Planning Board meeting original scheduled for Jan. 21 has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday inside city hall, located at 255 Main St. A copy of the agenda is available here.

TUESDAY: The Greenburgh Library invites students in grades five and up to attend an informational session on 3-D printing at the Microsoft Store in White Plains at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The session will cover the history and the new terminology used in the field. There will also be demonstrations and hands-on exploration. WEDNESDAY: SCORE Westchester is hosting a workshop on developing a winning business plan Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  The workshop, which is being led by Robert D’Agostino, SCORE Mentor, will:               

  • Give you goals and directions
  • Help you develop as a manager
  • Show your banker or investor your business goals
  • Inform your employees, suppliers and others of your goals
  • Measure actual performance against your goals.

WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday at 6:30pm, Dr. Neville Bamji and Dr. Savreet Sarkaria, of the Mount Sinai Hospital-affiliated, New York Gastroenterology Associates, with offices in Scarsdale, NY and in New York City, will discuss some of the many reasons why people do not undergo screening, and also guidelines for cancer screening. The event will take place at Gilda’s Club Westchester, located at 80 Maple Ave. in White Plains. Sign up is required for. WEDNESDAY: The White Plains Library is hosting “Family Storytime: Polar Bears” Wednesday at 7 p.m. The event will feature a tories, songs, activities, and a bedtime snack for the whole family. The library is located at 100 Martine Ave., White Plains.

THURSDAY: The White Plains Library is hosting a “K-2 Club - A Story from China” Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The event will feature a storytime, plus a snack.
